my blogging mood turn upside down. not constant. i love reading blogs. but meeee, when the blogging mood is not 'there', all my fingers feel so heavy to lift up & write new entry. haha. this will be a long post (lump sum in 1 entry).

DIY Bunga Pahar Using Fabric Flower

talking about preparation, my mission to DIY bunga pahar is accomplished. yea! yahoo!!

I planned to make 110 flowers only. but mom took 2 flowers to give to my aunty for sample. yes, 2 flowers only. *oh mom you're so mean. 2 flowers took +/- 3 hours to complete, you know*. now i have to squeeze more time & energy to make it 2 flowers more. pffttt -_-

I am not such a patient person.only God knows how I push myself to do this DIY stuffs. I sew the flowers, mum & sis will do the net casing, the holder and the final finishing. the toughest part was done by me. * clap clap* my DIY bunga pahar were all handmade with love. it means that it did not involve any sewing machine, hiring someone to do it, etc. i sew every single items & details on my bunga pahar. no glue are required. rajin kan?

At the early stage, I managed to get 3 flowers only, then count the total flowers that I've made. continue sewing again 2-3 flowers, then recount. very tak penyabar punya orang. haha. after I completed about 40 flowers, I almost give up. like seriously I'm so tired with DIY thingy. sigh. Dearest mum keep babbling about my pending project. I forced myself real hard to get it done. Unfortunately, i'm having backpain when the total flower hits number 70. lucky number. I stopped my project for about 3-4 weeks.

Last week, I continued to DIY again. Its not fair to give up on such a little thing. btw, I'm half way done. I sew, sew and sew ignoring the total numbers of flowers that I've made. *yeah, I lied. I sew about 10 flowers, then count, sew, recount. improvement right? hahaha -_-*

Voila! I completed my goal.. and accidentally I got 3 extra flowers. I miscalculated the total flowers, then I sew more than what I planned! so total, I got 115 bunga pahar. minus 2 flowers reserved for my aunty. Happy & satisfied with the ending. I'm proud with myself too *perasan*

if someone wants to tiru like me, email/gives credit to me. * kejam gila* haha. no laaa. the process is quite complicated, so I'm willing to help and provide some tips if you ask me personally.

sorry, the quality pictures from mobile phone were quite bad. time ni tak berapa kemas sangat. time awal-awal buat. it improves slowly. i made several colours. the first & second layer made from chiffon, third layer is cotton polka dot. net tu akan letak wajik and tied up. ♥ ♥ ♥ it!

First Fitting

I went to my very first fitting on last friday (16 march 2012). All my family's attire was designed & tailor by Dato Roy Azman. My reception dress also done by his team. I was very excited & satisfied with my dress even it is not a complete real dress yet. It met my expectations. I'm so in love with my dress. sebijik macam I design & draw. *dreaming*

I'm really hope this feeling will last forever. haha. If my bridezilla mode turned on, everyone will run away leaving me with negative thoughts & they will complain how banyak songeh I am. believe me. haha.

Wanda' dress inspiration

no need to explain. if you are a true Malaysian, you will know him (the designer) & her (the model) :p

Wanda's real dress

the material used is satin crepe. the cost is about RM18 per metre (if I'm not mistaken). Dato Roy needed 3.5 metre only. He bought the kain by himself. The border lace cost RM70 per metre. We bought 1.5 metre at Jakel. quite expensive for me. the workmanship cost RM500. quite pricey jugak.

Estimation Total Cost for Wanda's Dress: Material RM18 x 3.5 = RM63

+Border lace RM 70 x 1.5 = 105

+Workmanship = RM500

The estimation total cost = RM668

the workmanship is neat, superb & meet my requirements. the cutting is almost purrr.. fect! my jaw was dropping when I saw her dress for the 1st time. this pic didn't judge the real prettiness. it looks far much better upfront. i'm quite choosy when it comes to workmanship. you can trust my taste. hihihi :p

Hafiy's baju melayu

I didn't design any baju melayu for guys. This ss Dato Roy's signature design. Modern contemporary baju melayu. I didn't take a picture from the back. the baju got unique design at the back. Dato Roy mixed around with two different fabrics. Hafiy will match his baju with blue songket sampin and pearl butang baju melayu. This Workmanship also great! Nice isn't?

The cost? For guys attire in my family, we spent more on the material itself, to balance with the cheap upah. haha. It's baju melayu, friends. the standard workmanship cost is between RM70-350 only. Pity if u guys. *jangan marah*

the material used is Valentro silk or Valentro satin. something sound like that The cost about RM33 per metre. for Hafiy, we bought 5 metre. the workmanship is RM150. actual price is RM300. Since we invested alot on Dato' Roy's boutique, he gave us great discount. 50% for guy's attire only. Great bargain. happyyy... :D

Estimation Total Cost for Hafiy's Baju Melayu: Material RM33 x 5 = RM165

+Workmanship = RM150

The estimation total cost = RM315

No teaser for my baju. haha. Will review after the real event. Mum's dress need alteration. ketat. haha. Dad's baju melayu also need alteration. Yasmin's dress is still on the making.

Dato Roy Azman from Roy Busana Anggun highly recommended for both man & woman's attire. I love the outcome.

Wedding - 2 months++ left

hi & salam all!

i have edited my blog template. cute aite? haha. but this new design had eliminated some of my widgets, including my wedding checklist. adoi.

so, i have to create a new wedding checklist. tapi tak boleh nak buat checklist tu as blog footer macam dulu dah. nak create tab baru khas untuk checklist pun tak boleh. sigh sigh sigh! please help this noob girl. helpp...

i'm done with my first fitting for reception dress. it was awesome schmowsome! kena panjangkan part skirt dress je, kecilkan badan. i prefer not to post any teaser of my reception dress. but i will post the pics of my family with their first fitting session. yeah, dato' roy from roy busana anggun design & tailor all of our baju for my big day.

Wedding - 6 months++ left

hi all.

sangat letih hari ni sebab 1 hari full pergi sana sini setel hal kahwin. so far, semua benda besar-besar dah settle. yea!! depo paid, all vendors so far ok la.. baik. here's the summary untuk vendor-vendor i yang dah confirm.

Wedding Dress

macam-macam cerita tentang hal ni. mula-mula nak pergi mimpikita, tp tak jadi. sebab ahad tutup. PR die pun macam kureng sikit la. so, mum malas. kitorang pun pergi la shopping kain kt jakel, shah alam untuk kain family. kain i tak beli lagi. sebab ingat nak jumpa designer dulu. lagipun takde mood nak beli kain tu, sbb i can't focus. period pain attack me that time. asyik terduduk je time tu tahan sakit.

then lepas beli kain, terus pergi altelia amani. sebelah jakel je. ok sangat!! designer die nama, amar. baik sangat. PR pun ok. price not bad la untuk nama macam dia kan. they charge 2500 for wedding dress + tudung + veil + kasut (tapi i tak ingat la kasut die provide ke tak). lepas tu balik rumah terus sebab nak pikir dulu.

then my mum bincang-bincang, dia cakap since kain da terborong over budget, die kata i kene sewa je baju. sebab i nak designer, harga mahal kan. sekarang nak jimat. i pun alaa.... tapi nak buat macam mana. untuk anak die yang tak keluar duit sesen pun, i pun terima & redha je la. tapi mom suruh i survey-survey sendiri.

on monday, i pun jalan-jalan pergi semua house lepas kerja. nampak 1 kedai ni. murah sangat-sangat. beading pun cantik. tapi tak jumpa tailor dia. ada promoter je. i pun tanya harga itu ini. dia cakap, kalau diorang belikan kain, harga semua design mcm tu, dalam 1500. kalau kain sendiri dalam 7 hingga 8 ratus. i pun tengok, oklah. nampak macam murah & ok. impian nak pakai designer terus tuka jadi tailor/mak andam je. hahaha.

so after bincang-bincang dengan mom, we decided to take that tailor. mom suruh dtg keesokkannya. bincang trus & ambil dia untuk baju i. i draw design untuk baju i & family i. on that day, i pun datanglah tempat tu dengan wanda & yasmin. tapi tailor nye takde. asyik tak de je. da 3 kali pernah pergi kedai tu, tak pernah jumpa tailor nye. pelik!

tapi my mum cakap tak payah la amik dengan dia. sebab da tak suka beading work org tu. dia kata nampak geli, serabut & tak kemas. dah kata nak jimat? i pun tak masuk la kedai mahal-mahal nak cari. hahaha. dah la tak menyenangkan customer. kita pulak kene tunggu and cari-cari dia. takut je in future, jadi benda tak ok. i pun dengar cakap mum. since i sampai lambat, my mum pusing-pusing semua house. dia cakap die ada jumpa 1 kedai yang ok untuk jahit baju i.

i mula-mula memang tak confident tengok kedai dia. kecik & tersorok. die dekat main door semua house. tapi tesorok. sebab kat tepi celah je. pastu i tengok baju display dia semua lace. lace memang bukan minat i la kan. tapi ada la 1 chiffon. tp i tak minat design dia.

tapi lepas duduk bincang, wooo weee!!! he is the senior designer!! satu line dengan radzuan radziwil, rizalman, etc. he was once the stylist for siti nurhaliza before siti hired michael ong. his price quite reasonable, cheaper than altelia amani. what a relieved! dia sangat baik, humble and have lots of idea.

fashion designer for my wedding dress is Dato' Roy Azman. i think he is popular back in 90's. i'm quite familiar with his name before. tapi lupa bila, di mana, kenapa. i gave my sketch for my wedding dress, yes he can make it. tak ramai orang boleh buat design yang i nak tu. so since die boleh buat, within my budget, i memang sangat-sangat bersyukur. dia pun add on his idea, to make it elegantly princess. hahaha. what a word.

he told me to make long trail, but my dress trail is unlike normal trail, it is different. i pun tak pernah tengok design macam tu lagi orang kat malaysia pakai. setahu i la. my wedding dress is chiffon material, baby pink colour with drapes, tassel beads, heavy beadworks, patch lace, diamonds, pearls and organza roses!! i combine idea from mimpikita dress, rizalman's dress, syomir izwa's dress and my own idea. suprisingly, the tail of my dress is about 3 meters long. mom said "panjangnya. dah macam Lady D". *dreaming*

all my family members made the wedding attires with him. i gave the sketch to dato' roy, and he used my sketch to make his reference. dia hargai kerja i, and die xbuang pun. isn't he's sweet? siap simpan dalam file tau lagi. he looks so young instead of his real age is 44!!

measuring my brother punya ukuran badan

i bought the material with him yesterday. tips, kalau nak beli kain, beli dengan designer. dapat discount banyakkk sangat. baju i guna 8 meter chiffon + 4 meter lining. guna banyak kain chiffon sebab trail i saja da 3 meter lebih, nak buat drape lagi. so, mmg kain guna banyak. lining pun i guna crepe silk/crepe satin tah. i can't remember. ok, now semua baju i & family dah settle. nanti bulan 3 first fitting. kalau boleh, dia akan siapkan lagi awal.baju yasmin paling last dia buat. sebab takut yasmin cepat membesar. takut nanti kang belum sempat kenduri da singkat baju dia. my family theme colour cream + gold.

so far, i'm happy with my baju. idea & design by truly me & dato' roy. tak sangka dapat pakai designer macam yang i nak selama ni. tapi untuk boys in my family, i bagi dia 100% freedom untuk ikut design modern yang dia suggestkan. lelaki memang i tak buat sketch langsung. i ada explain to my designer, but he said, it was outdated fashion. hahaha. he suggest baju melayu with modern & stylish kot? hahaha. bab-bab baju lelaki memang i tak reti la.

mula-mula ingat nak ambil photographer ni. tapi tak jadi. sebab mahal & macam tak patut dengan nama dia yang tak berapa nak glamour lagi tu. dah la kene cover travel fee + transportation fee sebab dia from negeri sembilan.

so lepas pikir banyak-banyak kali, macam la kat KL ni tak banyak photog yang i boleh dapat kan? lagi la reasonable, lagi la glamour, with superb artwork. masa i pergi booking dewan, orang dewan tu (is there a name untuk orang yang in charge jaga management dewan?) recommend kawan dia untuk jadi phootg wed i. nama dia shahril affandi.dia bagi link.. oh, sangat cantik & superb la kerja dia. dia snagat-sangat professional & experience. kalah la photog negeri sembilan tu. hahaha. u can see his work link.

i email dia, dapat feedback positive. harga pun ok. tapi lari budget sikit la. baju lari budget, ni pun sama. biasalah, nak kahwin kan. then dia call i, dia kata nak jumpa bincang. dia willing datang my house untuk further discussion. tapi i insisted. sebab i malas nak susah-susahkan dia. ye la, takut die datang jauh-jauh, nanti i tak ambil dia. apa la kata dia kan. sebab masa tu tengah hesitate lagi nak pakai dia ke tak.

dah 2 minggu dengan kereta i rosak, masa takde, wanda tak nak drive kereta manual bawa i pergi showroom dia, i pun bbm dia. sebelum ni pun kitorang da kenal-kenal sikit via bbm. dia cakap takpe. dia datang rumah i. dia suka nak kenal dengan family client. sebab nanti kalau kata betul i jadi hire dia, dia dah kenal semua family member i. so senang dia nak capture apa. isn't he is toooo good?

die datang rumah, bawa contoh-contoh leather book, complete dengan agreement, borang, terus dia buat quotation time tu jugak. berapa cost kalau ambil 2 event, 3 event, apa i dapat, berapa upah dia, berapa lama ambil masa, etc. memang sangat-sangat details la. sangat convincing, sangat transparent. takda la nak sorok-sorok & letak hidden charge sana sini. die tahu apa kita nak and die paham kitorang yang tight budget. hahaha.

so die bagi discount sebab i booking awal. discount early bird. kitorang ambil pakej 3 events, sebab jadi lagi murah kos. dapat 2 leather books (one for nikah & bride's reception, one for groom's recption), photobook untuk pre wed, dvd unlimited pics, free half day pre wed, half day outdoor (post wed). seronok je bila dengar itu ini dapat free. hahaha. kerja dia? oh,, tersangatlah gorgeous. boleh pengsan tau tak.

die sangat melayan kitorang. die sampai pukul 8.55 malam, balik pukul 11.30. ha kau! seronok sembang-sembang & kenal-kenal dengan dia. dia sangat baik, humble & suka share experience & skill dia dengan kitorang semua.

so far, banyak bende besar dah setel and boleh cancel out. tinggal benda-benda kecik je. mengantuk gila dah. next post - deco.

*yes, mum asked me to wear hijab during all my wedding events. that's explain why she always force me to wear hijab whenever we went out (with her). lol.*

me: urm, shawl? wrap around shawl? plain, no beading, no veil and without crown/tiara stuffs on my head.

mum & wanda: lana, u kene extraordinary dari guest. nanti org tak nampak lana. dah la dress tu simple, takde beading apa sangat. lepas tu tak nak pakai veil ke tiara ke apa. dress tu buat je macam dalam gambar tu, labuh meleret. nanti lepas kahwin, alter lain bagi pendek.

me: but, i prefer something casual & guest friendly...

wanda: u should wear long veil and tiara.. simple tiara just fine.. you should add more embelishment & beadworks to your dress.. bling bling is important.. otherwise, u look plain and dull bride..

mum: yes, u should. nama pun pengantin, jadilah pengantin. elegant, charming and gorgeous. long dress, veil, bling-bling.

Horse bolted

hi lovelies readers.

Q: What does the horse bolted mean?

A: The horse ran (gallop) usually in shock or fear without prior notice to the rider.

Q: How to prevent it?

A: My bf said "sit back, straight your back, hold the rein tightly then push the rein roughly until the horse fully halt. But, please beware, the horse will be bolted again and again after its first attempt fail to throws the rider from its back".

Q: What happen if i fall/dismount from the bolting horse?

A: If you're lucky, nothing happen. If you're unlucky, the risk would be similar to the superbike accident. *imagine Marcos Simoncelli tragic accident, OMG*

Frankly to say, i experienced the horse bolted yesterday. yes, i'm not even kidding. Alhamdulillah i'm safe and sound now. i didn't fall, but nearly fall. i screamed loudly coz i guessed i might falling down either at the paddock ground or on the jumping pole. my bf shouted at me to tell what it supposed to do to stop the horse. then the horse stopped in a sudden. second time, the horse bolted again, but i tried to do my what my bf's had taught. it happened several times after that, and i managed to control the horse from bolting again and again. pheww .

now, u know the risk of horse riding sport. it is not easy as it looks. the most difficult sport i had tried before, because u deal with live creature which is horse. unlike football, netball, marathon, swimming, etc.

i found this mimpikita gorgeous dress when i was googling tonight. this is the full picture of the previous wedding dress post. it is soooo represent me! simple, less beadwork, draped effect, unique and made up of chiffon. but, i think i want to make it shorter and no long trails. i don't want to sweep any floor using my precious wedding dress. haha.

my sis, wanda said, lets try mimpikita to get those dress! *praying hard*
