three-holidays-back-to-back : Part I - Penang

hi.

apologize me for the long break. i am very hectic with the unplanned holiday made by mum. I feel like I am the participant of The Amazing Race reality tv show. unplanned means.. I forgot to bring :
  1. camera (I only used my bb.. so the picture quality is low)
  2. swim wear (I thought no water sports or swimming activities involved),
  3. enough clothes (i used the same clothes several times until I got the chance to but a new ones. hahaha).
We went to Penang on Sunday (29 Jan) and stayed at Flamingo Hotel, Batu Feringghi, Penang. Mum choosed hotel room with sea view. Big Yea! the hotel rate was quite reasonable and I satisfied with the hotel service. Everything is nice and satisfying except, late check-in (3.30 pm), and noisy chinese song playing repeatedly at the lobby lounge. hey, I dah boleh jadi pengulas hotel. haha.

After the check-in, we had some rest at the hotel room to refresh our energy back after 5 hours journey. Then, we went to the swimming pool and beach. Since I did not bring my swim wear, yasmin & I walked at the beach and I helped her to find sea shells and built sand castle. Hafiy is the only one who bring swim wear. pffttt..

Then, we went to the Batu Feringghi flea market to find local restaurant for dinner. fortunately, I accidentally saw a parasailing!! Parasailing is a combination of Parachute + Sailing. I fell in love immediately and decided to give it a try. It was quite expensive, RM120 for two people and it took about only less than 8 mins! I tried my first ever experience of parasailing with wanda. We were told to run, hold the rope tightly and let our hands free from the rope until we'd been told to do so. I followed all the instructions except the last one. *please slap me* :p wanda who sat at the back shouted at me

"hey, don't hold the rope anymore! let it go!!...."

she did not finish her sentence yet.. then BUUSSHHH!!! I fell at the sand beach, followed with wanda . It hurts! -after the embarrassing fell *blushing*, I discovered my mistakes. I stood up, let my hands free and without any prior notice... my body was push upward and I flew!!!

the feeling was so amazing! It was a very special moment that I'll never forget in my whole life. you should try this at least once! its worth! tapi sekejap sangat :( when we looked down, there was another problem. how to do a safe landing. omaigod. I let wanda to sit at the back because she was the one who will pull the rope to get the force so that parachute will go down in order to land us. wanda is a petite girl. her strength is limited and not enough to make the parachute down. damn. everything happened so fast. then BAMMMM!! we fell again, rolled up, tumbled and stumbled. wanda's face covered with sand (she nearly ate the sand. hahaha) while my hand got minor scratch.

the thing is, put aside all the fear and negative thoughts and TRY IT!!

feel the excitement!!!

the above picture is similar like the one I tried
all pictures from google

Parasailing stuff was over. I really want to try it again. Suddenly, I imagine how my cash will fly away. *blinking eyes*Back to our objective, we want to find nice restaurant for dinner along the flea market road. I was disappointed when I reached there. there were so many chinese seafood restaurant (halal factor was doubted), but there was not a single local restaurant! what the fish. *my stomach screams louder* So, we went down to the georgetown to fulfill our stomach demand. hahaha. We ate at seafood local restaurant. I forgot the name. Food was okay.

The next day, I accompanied my mum walking at the seaside to watch the sunrise. so beautiful! then, we had breakfast at hotel cafe. food was very yummy especially the pancakes!

Back at the hotel room, we could not stop ourselves talking about parasailing stuff. Then mum said,

"Since we are in Penang, why not we proceed our way to Langkawi? There are lots of water/sea games to be try. We can visit Daddy too."

I bbm-ed dad and we proceed our way to Langkawi via Kuala Perlis Jetty. Parked our car there and took a ferry to Langkawi.

Oh I forgot to tell you, the real purpose we went to Penang is to teman Wanda to obtain sample of paddy fungus (magnaphorte oryzae) for her thesis experiment a.k.a final year project. She obtained the sample from MARDI, Kepala Batas Penang. Actually mum did not plan to stay at Batu Feringghi. The actual plan is, to stay at any hotel nearby Kepala Batas, get the sample and back home. But the plan is totally change drastically. hahaha.

we check out at 10 am. went to MARDI then proceed to Kuala Perlis. I will story you about Langkawi in the next post. hikshiks ~
